Business Problem/Opportunity:
Palliser’s Logic division has a home grown WIP Tracking
system that required WIP transactions to be recorded daily and then entered
by a data entry employee. Having already the infrastructure for Radio
Frequency Data Collection, there was an opportunity, using minimal cost,
to automate this WIP tracking transaction.
Solution:
G-BEC worked with Palliser’s Production Manager to
design an RF transaction to replace the manual process of recording and
entering this transaction. The solution was designed to integrate seamlessly
with both the existing RF system and the home grown WIP Tracking system.
The implemented solution involved creating the new interface that will
run on the scanner and will create the transactions needed on the back
end system.
G-BEC was involved mainly in Project Management
capacity but also helped in the Application Development.
